Job Description:

*** This is an on-site only position*** Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm Friday 6:00am-11:00am, as needed for overtime ONLY About the Role: A Material Handler is responsible for moving, storing, and organizing materials throughout the production process. They ensure that materials are available where needed and maintain an efficient workflow. As a Shear Operator, this role focuses on the precise cutting of metal sheets into specific sizes. They ensure the quality and readiness of these materials for further processing, and their role involves machine operation, quality control, and maintenance. Responsibilities: • Receive raw materials, including metal sheets, coils, and other supplies, from vendors or the shipping area. • Keep track of material inventory levels, ensuring that stock is replenished when necessary. • Ensure that all materials are stored in a safe manner to prevent accidents. • Responsible for operating mechanical or hydraulic shears that cut metal sheets or strips to specific dimensions. • The operator adjusts settings on the shearing machine, such as blade gaps, pressure, and speed, to match the material type and thickness. • They support workflow by making sure that the materials are available for operators, at the right time and location, helping prevent production delays. • Maintain a clean and organized department. Candidate Requirements: • Experience using tools such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes. Moving materials to the relevant production areas, ensuring that workstations and machines have the materials they need. • Precision is critical, as is familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and rulers to ensure the acuts are accurate and meet the required tolerances. • Have a strong work ethic and dependability. • Have a mechanical aptitude, and ability to independently prioritize duties for effective time management and work flow. • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
